I've worked with Coach James and found him to be one of the most capable humans I've ever met. His willpower is Goggins-esque. His athletic accomplishments are awe inspiring. He may be the Bo Jackson of ancient functional training. If you want to elevate your functional strength, trust this program.
I thought I was in pretty good condition and then I did Tombstone. Tombstone did me in and I highly recommend this program.
This program has legit had my core on fire more than any other program I have ever participated in. I played high school football, was in the military and never did functional movements such as those laid out in this program. I’m grateful for the workouts thus far and I look forward to the progress that I’ll make in my physique.
A lot of current “fitness gurus” talk about functional training that requires a laundry list of specialized equipment and gym memberships that cost hundreds of dollars to set up if you don’t have your own home gym. Tombstone cuts out the BS. Planet Fitness, even your average hotel gym will have all the dumbbells and supplementary space necessary for you to crush these workouts. Not for nothing there’s something to be said for a program that can benefit the total picture and not take up 4 hours of your day. Rock on Wild Hunt - continue to impress.
Great program for functional strength. The workouts include the kind of movements that lead to strength gains that actually transfer into practical every day uses.
I’ve been doing more of a power bodybuilding routine for quite some time, and I could feel a lot of little muscles being worked that have not been stressed like they were in this program in quite some time.
Some of the movements were also a bit of a litmus test. It was especially revealing to me how tight my shoulders and upper body have gotten when doing squats with weight overhead.
Really enjoyed the dynamic warm-ups before the meat of the workouts. Reminded me of the dynamic warm-ups I used to do when playing football but with a primal twist, which was really fun.
I liked the timed sets more than I thought I would as well. They not only build mental strength and get your wind up, but they resulted in great pumps as well.
